Health according to the scriptures

VERY excited that Paul Nison will be at sukkot this fall.  He's a leading source in healthy eating so it will be awesome to be able to listen and ask questions.

Bright and cheery

We had a gorgeous rainbow tonight after a shower.   It's actually a double rainbow if you look close enough.

And our juice for tonight was just as bright and colorful!

Kitties!

They have such a hard life.

ahh... kids :)

Psalms 139

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

They never let you get bored!

Rohan LOVES stuffed animals.. he's always carting a few around. :)

He especially likes this puppet dog. :)

The girls were in my closet for awhile and came out looking like this LOL

Yep, life surely isn't boring!

missing teeth and busted lips..

Brianna lost another tooth 2?ish days ago.  I didn't even know it was loose and it feel out easily.  Much less drama and ordeal than the last tooth!

And... the little man tossed me a book to read this morning, he missed my hands and hit my face instead.   Didn't even really hurt but hit me in just the right place to leave a blood blister.  Cute huh? :)

Poor man, he keeps pointing at it going "owey?  me owey you?"

Great documentary

Obviously we are going to be jumping in to a new lifestyle like a blind man but I'm excited.  I came across this documentary today and it's been really interesting to watch.   For a year or so now I've been watching the past survivorman episodes off and on.   I googled him last night and realized that he also had a documentary out about him and his family building a home off the grid and the struggles they faced.. figured it'd be perfect to watch and I found it online.

http://www.livingoffgrid.org/off-grid-self-sustaining-lifestyle-documentary-with-les-stroud/

The first part is there and parts 2-7 are linked below the first part.  Really interesting!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Les Stroud and survivorman you should check out some of his episodes on itunes.  He is dropped off for 7 days in various remote areas all over the world in different scenarios.  He then survives for 7 days alone.  He even does all of his own filming so there's not much of a saftey net.   It's really interesting..  (not to mention totally clean educational viewing!)

My wittlest blessing

He's such a sweet blessing lately.   For those of you that don't know us as well.. Rohan has always been a huge challenge.  There were days on end when he would just scream and cry from the moment he woke up to the moment he fell asleep.   When we'd leave the house he'd be better but he has a temper like you wouldn't believe.. and get's into everything.   To say he's been a challenge would be an understatement.   I've always been thankful that the Lord gave me a pretty even-keel personality because I don't think I could have survived him if I was the type to stress easily.    Some of his stunts have made me want to scream (like breaking my brand new laptop I worked through 2 wedding's taking photographs to buy.. and then breaking my nice camera)   but we've got through them.     These past few months have been such a blessing.  He seems to have left that personality behind for good.  He's such a sweet little joy to have around now.   Of course he has his moments.. he's a boy! LOL..  but after having nothing BUT those moments this new phase seems almost angelic.    Jesse and I can't help but talk about how sweet he is every day...  several times.... it's that big of a change LOL

Dance with me

Dance with me

O lover of my soul

To the song of all songs

Romance me

O lover of my soul

To the song of all songs

Behold You have come

Over the hills

Upon the mountains

To me You have run

My beloved

You've captured my heart

With You I will go

You are my love

You are my fair one

Winter is past

And the springtime has come

Dance with me

My man and spanish..

Took this yesterday with my phone.  He's so stinkin' adorable!!

If anyone knows where I can get some more shirts in his size (2-3T) with trucks on them.. preferably a big monster truck let me know.  He's got one and hates wearing anything else. :)

And.. Jesse has Rosetta Stone on his computer and I got it going today.  LOVE IT!  I really like the way it works.  I've only got through the first lessons but I actually learned stuff.

he, she, woman, man, swim, read, run, eat, drink, cook, and write.  Also, the correct usage of la and el as well as the plural forms for those words.  In just about 30 mins.   I'm excited.   Hope to do that at least once a day.

In other news..  got a new baby.  my juicer!  It's awesome.  I'll do up another post about that later though.

__

I thought it would be fun to share some pictures of the house now that so much has been sold.

Still got quite a bit to sell and our garage is horrific.  BUT, making progress.

Our room.  Not much less in here actually.  Our room has always been sparse.  Bed and nightstands gone.  And while our room IS orange it's not that blinding shade LOL.. didn't feel like editing these pictures or messing with white balance though.

Rohans room, his toddler bed, stop sign, and chest of drawers all sold.  He doesn't actually use this bed either.  However, we want to bring 4 twin size mattresses (doing 2 bunk beds in kids room) with us so we went ahead and bought the 4th.

What remains of the kids toys.  And to be honest they don't play with all these.  I think I'm going to pair down again.  Blocks, build a bear, legos, littlest pet shop, and american girl dolls are what is loved lately. :)

the view from the entryway

The room that's supposed to be a dining room but has been an office and a playroom.

The living room. :)  The stuff in the corner is gone on saturday.  Ignore the lego covered rug. LOL.  We hardly ever used the furntiure.. we just hung out on the floor or all sit on our beds anyway.  We've got 8 camp chairs we can use if we want to sit in there though.

The GORGEOUS table LOL.   That table has been a sewing table, a garage sale table, a school room table, needless to say it's a good thing there is a table cloth for it LOL.

The kids room.  (they made their beds)

And the "school" room

I'll spare you a photo of the garage.. let's just say it's NOT empty LOL

Full days.

It seems like I wake up and a week has gone by over night.  It's amazing how quickly time flies lately!

Our house is becoming emptier and emptier.  We now have 3 rooms of the house completely empty, we never use 2 bathrooms, and we are eating off a card table.  And those aren't the bedrooms we are using which consist of mattresses on floors LOL.   Ahh.. life is so much easier without junk everywhere.  Why we ever thought we needed a house this size is beyond me.

Made a quick run into town today and used my free $10 Kohls coupon.  They send me one of those about once a month it seems.  Love it!   I'll take a free $10 anyday. :)   I've got one to Maurices as well so I'm hoping to make it by there soon.

Been trying to refit my wardrobe lately.  One of the commandments is to not mix wool and linen in a garment.  I realize it doesn't say it has to be 100% of one fabric but we are going that direction anyway.  It seems to fit the concept and his desire of no mixing so I'm trying to pair my wardrobe down to all 100% garments.  Jesse's pretty much was.  Apparently if it's a women's piece of clothing it can't be 100% anything though LOL.  It's got to have at least 1% spandex.   My closet looks WAY emptier than it did.  I've found walmart is a good place for 100% shirts.  I can't seem to find 100% skirts anywhere easily though.   I noticed target had some cute summery type skirts that were 100% cotton so I need to look there.

Thinking some skirts like this http://www.target.com/Merona-Smocked-Skirt-Yum-Plum/dp/B0035KMP1O/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton would be great.  Not too long, cool, perfect for summer.

About to place a big order of pictures.  Haven't done that in FOREVER.

July 13, 2010

Photo time :)

I had picture of our entire family I can develop and one of each of the girls so I just needed to take one of Rohan so I can give out pictures.   Finally got it done after 3 months of thinking about it LOL.

We took some others in the front yard too. :)

My cute little flower girls

"stole" (she knows LOL) some pictures off facebook from a friend. :)

Phew..

Tired!   Not much to talk about so I'll just post a quick hello. :)   It's about time to go clean house.  Never my favorite job but it sure is easier now that half of our house is completely empty!  :)

And...  thought this was cute of some of the kiddos on shabbat last week. :)

Magic, Magic, EVERYWHERE!!

(this is of course what my family and I have decided.. nothing I'm about to write is condeming you for feeling differently..  These are my personal thoughts and I know everyone has different ideas about things so no I'm not preaching or lecturing.. I'm explaining my viewpoint. :) )

So, my girls love dress up fairy wings, they've got the wands that come with the princess dresses (why do those things even go together?), they've read the fairy books and the cinderella stories about the fairy godmother and the stuff turning into pumpkins.

Harmless right?

I've read the Harry Potter books and enjoyed them. They are really enjoyable reads!

Harmless right? I know some of you are thinking NO! Harry Potter isn't harmless!

Let me ask a question. If Harry Potter is harmful. Is the first scenario?

What is the difference? After I took a step back and really looked at things I honestly believe the first scenario is worse.

With Harry Potter I'm reading about magic but it's your typical good vs. evil story line with good winning.

With kids playing dressup, reading the books, watching the movies (and lets not kid ourselves.. watching cindrella on film is the exact same thing as reading the book.. one isn't worse than the other) , and playing pretend magic they are actively engaging themselves in the art of DOING MAGIC. They are pretending that THEY are doing magic and having fun with that!

We wonder how our children and fellow "christians" have become so callous as to enjoy things like Harry Potter, twilight, etc. I know why. It's because we allow and see no harm in seemingly innocent magic. We allow our children to read about fairy godmothers, evil stepmothers working witchcraft, 3 fairies protecing someone against the evil witch, the list goes on and on. What disney story ISN'T about magic? It's not just Disney either.. what children's princess tales don't involve magic?

What does YHWH think about magic and witchcraft?

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

—Revelation 21:8

"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to The Lord, and because of these detestable practices The Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before The Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13 NIV)

So, our children aren't DOING witchcraft when they wave that wand and do magic! They aren't participating in sorcery when they read that book or watch that movie! I'm not participating in it when I read Harry Potter!
But am I not having pleasure in it?

It seems that the devil knows exactly what he's doing. He's turned witchcraft into something so mild almost every person that claims to follow Christ/ Yeshua sees as innocent enough they let their 4 year old daughters take part. I know, I've been there. I saw nothing wrong with it! As a result, I saw nothing wrong with Harry Potter. You can not condem one without condeming both I've discovered. They are both magic, they are both opening a doorway to evil, they are both taking pleasure in something YHWH hates. And I think we've decided they are both things we will no longer take part in. Not something that comes easily for me. I love Disney. It's always been my vacation spot of choice. It's fun! But what IS it? What is in EVERY story?

Witchcraft.

I can no longer allow myself to take pleasure in something that YHWH hates so strongly.

If you want to get on a whole NOTHER level of suff... look up the meaning of the word sorceries in the revelations.

Wedding!

The girls were flower girls in a wedding last night and LOVED it. They are still talking about it LOL.

I'll have to get someone to email me some pictures to post but here are a few that I took with my camera. :)
